Clifford B. Wesa, 90, of Mt. Prospect, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, September 5, 2015.
Clifford was a proud veteran of the Army Air Forces, having bravely served as a B-29 airplane and engine mechanic during World War II in the Pacific Theater.
Clifford was the beloved husband of Virginia (nee Mikulec) for 64 years. The loving father of Alan (Deborah) Wesa, and Janice (Ronald) Wood. The proud grandfather of Courtney Wesa and Kevin, Brian, and Emma Wood. Fond brother of John (Marge) and the late Harold (Jean) and Edward (Jean) Wesa.
A memorial visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 11, from 3-8 PM at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd, (at Rt. 83), Mt. Prospect, IL. A memorial mass will be held Saturday at 10 AM, at St. Emily Catholic Church, 1400 E. Central Rd, Mt. Prospect, IL 60056. A home reception to follow mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Clifford’s honor either towards the family’s placement of a memorial brick at the National World War II Museum in New Orleans or to “The Wounded Warriors Project”, 230 W. Monroe St., Chicago, IL 60606.
